All other classes will be on schedule. Also, next week don’t forget that we will be having the wellness center appreciation week. Light snacks and refreshments will be provided after a specific class on each day. Again, thank you for everything and we appreciate each and every one of you!

Did you know that there has been major changes to the food pyramid and proportions of food that we are to eat?
Doesn’t this look familiar? It should. It is that standard food pyramid that has been taught to generations on how much of each food group we should be feeding our bodies.
Although, due to healthy food avocations, the food pyramid has been altered just a bit… Take a look at what the food pyramid has become currently today…
Instead of the six tiers of the food pyramid, the food plate contains the four main (and most important) groups that you should be eating daily. The focus more on even proportions of each group instead of going “up” the pyramid as before with each proportion getting smaller, the higher up you go. Protein sure does get more attention with the food plate then before with the food pyramid, and sweets and oils have been cut out completely.
Make sure that you are staying healthy and fit by sticking to the food plate guidelines when planning your next meal!
Aloha Members and Welcome Back!
We hope that you all continued to stay active and fit during our Spring Break! The Wellness Center re-opened this week and is running classes as usual.
We are also happy to mention that Sherry is back!!
As of today, April 1, 2014, she will be resuming her Hot Hula and Zumba Sentao classes on Tuesdays and Thursdays – both are at 5:30 p.m.
